Project Staff Accountant - (Crete, IL)

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for financial reporting and analysis, project accounting, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist in preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budget with variance analysis.
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Complete month-end close duties including journal entries.
Maintains and balances general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
Revenue and expense variance reporting, analysis and explanation.
Fixed asset accounting including maintain the Company?s fixed asset system; reconciling to GL, assure compliance to policy.
Accounting for financial, manufacturing, repair/maintenance projects; facilitate requests and working with project managers
Assist with periodic and year-end audit requests.
Other duties deemed necessary by management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods are required to perform basic office functions.
Ability to lift up to15 pounds is regularly required for filing and other record keeping duties.
Vision must be sufficient for inputting data into a computer.
Keyboarding skills that reduce the risk of carpal tunnel and other office related injuries.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Indoor office environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA designation or candidate preferred.
2 to 4 years Accounting experience required.
Intermediate software skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word including V,H Lookups, Pivot Tables and Graphic capabilities.
Must be able to work well with others both within and without our department.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P. and a current valid drivers license and meet the Holland Vehicle Fleet Policy.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
