Accounting Supervisor - (Crete, IL)

This person is responsible for all aspects of accounts payable for Holland L. P. and subsidiaries, as well as, some billing for one or more divisions.


  • First person for our Accounts Payable staff to approach with concerns and questions.
  • Lead accounts payable staff through improvement projects and act as interdepartmental liaison.
  • Gather production information for customer invoice processing for M Bar D division.
  • Create customer invoices for M Bar D division.
  • Distribute invoices to customers.
  • Investigate, calculate and process customer credits.
  • Code vendor invoices to proper accounts and projects.
  • Enter vendor invoices into our accounting system.
  • Process Employee Expense Reports.
  • Reconcile M Bar D Visa and Wright Express Statement monthly.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  • Upload various expenses from Excel to our Accounting database.
  • Handle accounts payable inquiries from internal customers and external vendors.
  • Assist M Bar D site supervisors with financial queries.
  • Complete new credit applications for vendors.
  • Investigate invoice discrepancies.
  • File invoices.
  • Process vendor payment with ACH payment or checks.
  • Help Operations Managers set up services for new sites.
  • Match all checks to the corresponding invoices paid.
  • Participate on phone & mail coverage team.
  • Join and contribute to at least one Holland committee.
  • Process annual 1099 & 1096 forms.
  • Maintain current vendor file.
  • Keep vendor W-9 information up to date in accounting system as well as paper format.
  • Work on departmental and interdepartmental team projects.
  • Participate in department meetings and strategic planning.
  • Assist with various assigned duties as needed.


  • Standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods are required to perform basic office functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds is regularly required for Photocopying, filing and other record keeping duties.
  • Vision must be sufficient for inputting data into a computer.
  • Keyboarding skills that reduce the risk of carpal tunnel and other office related injuries.


  • Indoor office environment.


  • Strong computer skills and proficient in MS office applications.
  • Excel is used heavily. Strong skills in Excel are required.
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Pass a mandatory pre-employment drug screen, and a current valid drivers license.
  • Must meet the Holland Vehicle Fleet Policy.
  • Positive attitude & strong work ethic.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with customers, employee s, management, and vendors.
  • Satisfactory completion of a company-training program.
  • Ability to work in team environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
